At 15 I discovered Vector graphics, which in 1997 was, itself still fairly young, and my dreams were born. I dabbled in graphics for family events and occasions. I eventually in 2001 designed and printed my own wedding invitations and bulletins, but still I merely dabbled. The fascination and love for Vector art sprung to life with the introduction of Microsoft Power point in my life and just in time.
Following my husband's second battle with cancer, it was just what I needed to help rebuild and refocus my life. Sounds strange, but it worked. Playing around with small sketches led to learning new techniques and finally images. So many that Desert Colors was born. I have also utilized these skills to raise awareness to the needs of Spouses of cancer patients through Supporting Spouses of Loved Ones with cancer. Check them out on Facebook.
The road of life will have it's storms, that is unavoidable. It is how we handle them and what we take with us out the other side that matters. Storms help us to dig deep, find strength and character we didn't know we had.
